At Shurrun's House, our unwavering mission is to provide safety, stability, and shelter to women and men in recovery from substance abuse. We are deeply passionate about our cause because we are dedicated to saving the lives of underserved low-income individuals in recovery. Our focus is on ensuring that each resident has the time and security needed to embrace a positive, productive lifestyle, free from the influences of their past associations with substance misuse.
As one of the first State-certified Recovery homes in Dallas, Texas, we have taken on the responsibility of addressing the pressing issue of drug overdoses by expanding our services to reach more individuals in need of support on their journey to recovery. The majority of our residents come from low-income backgrounds and lack the family support and medical insurance necessary to finance their stay. To bridge this gap, we prioritize empowering our residents to find employment opportunities before they are required to pay housing fees.
A critical aspect of our approach is integrating the principles of sobriety and recovery into daily life. We actively engage our residents with NA recovery classes and support groups, providing them with the necessary tools and guidance to succeed on their journey to sobriety. By doing so, we prevent homelessness, reduce recidivism, curb overdose risks, and minimize the likelihood of relapse.
Ultimately, our organization is devoted to empowering our residents with the education and life skills they need to reclaim their roles as productive members of society. We believe that every person has the potential to be a loving parent, supportive sibling, dependable friend, and contributing member of their community. By offering safety, stability, and compassion, we empower individuals to fulfill their destinies and break free from the chains of addiction.
